Where does the name Caparra come from?
Nearly 2,000 years ago, the ancient Romans built a majestic four-sided arch at Caparra, a small trading post in Spain. Despite the remote location, the Romans used best practices such as building on a sturdy foundation and using the best stone available. When our co-founder Peter was walking across Spain in 2023 he came across the Arch of Caparra, still standing tall.
Applying DevOps tools and techniques creates similar results: resilient code that stands the test of time. Our team is inspired by the Arch of Caparra, and our goal is to help you create similar enduring value in your work.

Chad Rhyner is the CEO of Caparra. A Wisconsin native and Marine Corps combat veteran, Chad has worked in DevOps and software development at companies like Medium, Box, and StreetShares.
Peter Somerville is the COO of Caparra. A Minnesota native and Marine Corps combat veteran, Peter has worked in startup product design, marketing, and sales at companies like StreetShares and the xx network.
